Amiloride can be used with other "water pills"/diuretics (such as furosemide, thiazide diuretics like hydrochlorothiazide) to treat blood that is high (hypertension), heart failure, or extra fluid in the body (edema). An extremely serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any for the after signs of a serious allergic reaction: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
